Bioscience
Bioscience is a wide and continuously evolving field that requires an effective balance of regulation, demand, new technology and rising costs.  There is high demand for novel products to improve outcomes while cutting costs.  The bioscience cluster helps maximize commercial success in areas such as medical imaging, medical devices, medical delivery systems, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering, biomaterials and industrial/environmental biosciences.

Alternative Energy and Clean Technology
Around the globe there is a push for “green” energy.  Energy availability, an intense interest in energy independence and energy security, coupled with climate change and pollution are global issues that now confront society today more than any time in our past.  These issues both define and create opportunities in alternative energy and clean technology, where meeting these complex challenges is our best opportunity to vastly change the way we treat our planet.

This cluster focuses on such technologies as solar and wind energy, biomass to energy, the “Smart Grid” and alternative fuels.

Advanced Materials, and Manufacturing Technologies
Significant leaps in technology are driven by the creation of advanced materials.  Advanced materials include unique composites of plastic, glass fibers, carbon fibers, ceramics, metals and nano-materials finer than smoke particles.  Any two or three of these materials could be used simultaneously to create end products that are stronger, faster or lighter than anyone imagined possible.

Exciting new manufacturing technologies utilize advanced computer numerical controls and mass produce solar panels, energy storage devices, consumer items, food and electronic components.
